Age basher's?

there are a few people on this board that keep saying she is too old she should retire and other people have come out and said leave them alone they are greats and should go when they want to. and i agree, but there are also people that bash younger players. in one thread someone said there isn't much hope for players like zvonareva, krasnoroutskaya and elke clijsters to be elite players just because they are already 18 and haven't done anything great yet and don't have 'elite' about them. what did yous say when bovina came through as a 19 year old? the way you talk you must have been shocked. and haven't you heard of laste bloomers? now there will be an argument saying other late bloomers like lindsay had already been in the top 10 a couple of years before they really made there mark. but these days the competition is so tight that not many players are going to have a career like lindsays.

why don't people just give the youngesters time to prove themselves and let the veterens leave when they want to.

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

Amen to that.

It's just that when you have a certain player winning a Grand Slam junior title at 12, and a senior doubles title at 15, not to mention capturing a full-fledged Slam and getting to No. 1 at age 16, the bar gets placed rather high.

Compared to that, a girl looks hopeless if she haven't even won a title at 18.

...and Hingis retired @ 22
Evidence that peaking early is not always a good thing

IMO
age+tallent+good performance against younger opponents=a hell of a lot more respect.

JUST DO IT.
Its not over at 22.
No shame, No fear, No sense of guilt...
