Re: Sabine Lisicki: "I have nothing to lose" (against Serena)

Sabine in a good day can beat anyone, but it has to be a very very good day, one without the chokefest at the end (because a choke against Serena, no matter the advantage, it only means one thing)

But that would be like saying "I feel a lot of pressure to win".

By saying "I have nothing to lose" you imply that your opponent is expected to win thus putting the pressure on the opponent.

It's Peak WTA!

I wonder who the CC crowd will root for. And if it will inspire one or the other - or both!

As long as she doesn't get any extra points who cares.

Before you speak to me about your religion, first show it to me in how you treat other people; before you tell me how much you love your God, show me in how much you love all His children; before you preach to me of your passion for your faith, teach me about it through your compassion for your neighbors. In the end, I'm not as interested in what you have to tell or sell as in how you choose to live and give.

Re: Sabine Lisicki: "I have nothing to lose" (against Serena)

It's probably the most standard, clichéd sports person quote that there is so I really wouldn't waste time reading anything into it. Bine knows that she's playing well and will know that she can match up to anyone when she's at her best, especially on the grass.

Considering everyone on here has been moaning about the tournament losing so many big names, the 4th round has some massively sexy looking match-ups going on.

I will be there and I will make sure Serena has plenty of support.

And I don't think many people know who Sabine is anyway, the crowd won't be that partisan one way or the other, just as usual.

Her last match vs. Stosur on CC there was hardly any noise at all, it could have been on Court 8 - I mean, what, seriously?

I'm sure she gets some good crowd support from time to time but then so do lots of people. There's only two players in each match, it's not hard to get people cheering for you. That hardly means she is "one of the popular players", she is not a household name and remains generally unknown to the Championship crowd. I know about 8 people going to Wimbledon this year and none of them would have an idea who she is.

Re: Sabine Lisicki: "I have nothing to lose" (against Serena)

I just hope it's a good competitive match.

Claiming, "I have nothing to lose", is a cliche statement at best, because what she has to lose is 'the match'.

And whether she believe it or not, the very idea that she has nothing to lose will vastly change once Serena cracks her first ace, or impossibly acute return winner by her.

That said, and even as a Serena fan, I hope that Lisicki brings her A+ game to make this match competitive and one to remember.
