Re: Most Impressive 1r Performance (Wimbledon 2013)

I'm going with Puig. I had a feeling Robson would at least play well against Kirilenko but didn't think she would get that huge upset either. Taking out #5 is still more impressive to me than taking out #10 (even if it was Errani on grass )

I was surprised with both, though I was slightly more surprised by Robson defeating Kirilenko. Nevertheless, Errani is the #5 and is always quite feisty, even if she is getting golden-setted.

Re: Most Impressive 1r Performance (Wimbledon 2013)

Monica Puig's feat was full of heroism , her victory over one of WTA's biggest villains saved tennis (at least for now) from the danger of a #4 player without a Premier/tier 2 title in her bag.

Re: Most Impressive 1r Performance (Wimbledon 2013)

Kimiko Date-Krumm was born in 1970. That year, Margaret Court defeated Billie Jean King in the Wimbledon final, 14-12, 11-9.

Her opponent today was born in 1995. She only got 2 games.

Date obviously.

He looked deep into his eyes and said, "You're perfect."

"No, I'm not. But with you, I don't even care."

Cabeza Candela's 1st Round performance was the most impressive to me. Did well to avoid the double bagel from Wozniacki.

Shine was consumed with shine yesterday, resulting in an even more brilliant wozniacki.

Puig beating Errani, because it was a great way to start the first days play.

Pironkova and Pliskova were also really impressive.

I was really impressed by Pironkova today. Her Wimbledon results are no fluke.
