Exclamation One thing to do.. If your fav lost...

Only one thing left for us to do, if your favorite lost and the sisters are among one of your least favorites: Just don't watch the final! Really until this sport comes up with something to combat the problem of predictablity in Grand Slams, and finds some finishers we don't have much of a choice. If enough people just tune out of the finals, and stop attending that should send a message loud and clear to the WTA and it's sponsors that we want a more competitive product. When ratings go down, you'll see how quickly things change. The WTA needs an overhaul; the same people in the finals everytime doesn't cut it.

That being said, props to the sisters and their fans. Serena made a good come back, and Justine wasn't herself from the start of the match. Enjoy your final. I for one predict Serena will win, but I'd prefer if Venus did.

Come finals day, I'll be out with my friends not viewing the Aussie Open finals. This is my boycott of the sport until we breathe some new blood into predictable Grand Slam finals. And you just lost my ticket money to the following events: Charleston, SC ^ US Open - NYC, NY ^ Miami, FL

But Congrads to the Sister's fans... at least you will have something entertaining to watch and cheer for on Finals day.

But it really doesn't matter if anyone without a neilsen's ratings box boycotts

That's OK... I have one, and I fill out the survey's for them as well. Staying on the phone for that telemarketing call was one time it was well worth the wait.

And the rein of power won't hold up until 2007... bodies can't take a pounding for that long. Like I said this is my own personal boycott. I don't watch things that aren't entertaining.

What do you think they'd do? Make Serena and Venus play rock/paper/scissors to determine who has to sit out a given Slam or tourney?

If you're less interested in the final because your faves aren't in it (hey, my interest in the Open took a nosedive the minute Amelie withdrew), fine, but to talk about boycotts and demand the tour and its sponsors "fix it" is just childish.

Reason is poor propaganda when opposed by the yammering, unceasing lies of shrewd and evil and self-serving men.

You deal with it your way, I deal with it mine. And I will not pay or watch something I don't like. That's the deal with this type of thing everyone has a choice... and since I don't like it. They lost my money and my support. And I have my reasons why I think they should "fix it" it's just I won't state them here... but they know damn well what I'm referring to. (And I don't mean the draws either, there's probably been enough of that going on).

Guess we'll just have to wait for the next X-files movie to hear the details.

I think this thread just shows that you are not a true fan of tennis.

I watch every possible tennis match I can, no matter who is in it. This is because I am dedicated to the sport. Sure, I love it that the Williams make many finals, but I won't tune out if they aren't.

I guess you just ain't a true fan.

OK, so some folks may not be glued to their sets for every single moment of the match -- having seen the act before -- but i can't imagine folks not tuning in from time to time to see how long it will take Serena to hold up her trophy...
