Kirilenko a pro now?

I just saw that Russian U.S. Open Junior champion Maria Kirilenko won her first pro title at a satellite event in Florida?

Did she win the title as an amatuer or is she playing pro tennis now?

Either way congrats on her first pro title.

i don't know wether she is a pro or not but i hope the title gives her the confidence to start playing more wta events. although she is quite young maybe she is limited but i still hope if she is limited that she is playing as many wta events as she is allowed.

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

Yes Maria is a pro, she turned Pro after last years US Open jrs, but its not gonna change anything other than she's allowed to keep her earnings.

Even though she's a pro or not you can STILL play juniors although in Maria's case its gonna be just occasionally and most likely Roland Garros.

Well Maria proved to be a tremendous talent in that tournament trouncing tour veteran Sonya Jeylasean in the final 6-3, 6-0.

2003 will probably be a good learning experience for her.
