Improbable Situation: Would You Do It?

OK, so I'm up late, lots of coffee, mind wandering and just imagined this scenario...

You're at the latter stages (SF/F) of one of the Slams/Miami (a big stakes tournament) watching your fave. On your person you have a large-enough-to-be-noticed but easily disposable item. It's a very tight match drawing to a close. Your fave goes MP down, they return the ball and you see their opponent get into position ready to smack that certain winner....

So the question is, would you throw the item on court so the point is replayed? Giving your fave one more chance?

And if anyone wants to go off on one don't bother, 'improbable situation' is in the title for a reason. It's just for fun. The ultimate stan test I guess.

Try and imagine it being the worst possible scenario, like for Serena fans, Serena finally getting to the RG final again but being MP down against Sharapova etc etc *cue 'improbable situation' jokes*

I wouldn't, but the only reason is because I'm afraid I'll get caught and kicked out. Besides that, it's downright embarrassing if everyone turns their head to look at you, ugh just kill me then

What if your fave goes on to win the match and Slam though?

Re: Improbable Situation: Would You Do It?

Now IF that happened...depends on the opponent. I'm essentially robbing a person of a Grand Slam, but then again my fave is winning .

If it was a person I hated (like Serena vs Liezel Huber) then I would throw it and curse that bitch out

They'd likely throw you out of the event so you wouldn't even see them win the match IF that were to even happen.

But you would have the satisfaction of knowing you gave your fave that opportunity to turn things around.

Re: Improbable Situation: Would You Do It?

I think If I did that I would be despised by my fave player forever

If my fave player is known for choking or is a huge choker then MAYBE i would do it ....

Kuznetsova Serena Na Kvitova

Djokovic Wawrinka Gasquet del Potro

Also good luck to Jankovic, Vesnina, Stosur, Pennetta, Kerber and Halep

Here's another way to look at it. If you were watching the match and some idiot in the crowd did this to help your fave, would want her to either concede the match or tank the next point or would you prefer to see her take advantage of her fan cheating?

What is the improbable in this situation? I guess Günter Parche also threw something to help his fave win.

Pironkova.Kostova.Petrova.Kerber.Schnyder. Stosur.Jankovic.Kuznetsova.
Pavlyuchenkova.Niculescu.Radwanska.Date-Krumm.Kvitova.Vinci.Muguruza.

Never. That's just disgusting behaviour, your fave should win rightfully without sabotage. I don't know how a person could live with themselves knowing they had to hinder a match in order for their fave to have a chance of winning. The victory would be a sham, for me anyway. You're only harming the reputation of your fave.

Only psycho stans do that... and I'd be worried if that were to ever happen.

It's a new art form showing people how little we care.

Re: Improbable Situation: Would You Do It?

I get it that this is just a hypothetical question, and although I haven't ever thought of this particular one before, I have to admit comparable thoughts have crossed my mind at times. Like hoping my fave's opponent suffers some obscure injury that makes it impossible for her to finish the match, but is perfectly fine an hour later. But in the end I always end up deciding that I don't want something like this to happen, because at the end of the day I always want my fave to win or lose on merit, not because of something random like that.

So my answer to your question would be no. If the thought crossed my mind I might briefly think it over for a split-second, but I wouldn't seriously consider doing it, much less do it (apart from the fact that I would be too much of a coward to do it anyway).

Isnt that hinderance?
Like when a piece of paper flies on court and the point would be replayed again??
How could you live when you know youve done something really really bad?
Will your idol appreciate it??

Reminds me of Jelena vs Halep!!
It wouldve been deuce 5-6 had that lineperson didnt call that call out!!
