Kveta Peschke in Stuttgart.... some questions

Kveta Peschke didn't play Fed Cup but was in Stuttgart with the German team!?

Is she friend with Groenefeld? With someone else in the team?
How good is her German?

Yep, I think so. She married Torsten Peschke 10 years ago in Berlin.

Seems to be a very nice person

Also talked to Barbara Rittner for a while. Pretty much the same age although Rittner retired so long ago...

Bad for Peschke that TCH has that great doubles team with Hlavackova/Hradecka

She retired from Fed Cup after the Czech team won in 2011. Her husband is German and has worked with Sabine before. Plus she plays doubles with ALG, and I think gets along quite well with most the German girls.

Yep, she seems to be very close to them incl. Barbara Rittner.

What does it mean, she retired from Fed-Cup after 2011? Official announcement?

Re: Kveta Peschke in Stuttgart.... some questions

She has lived in Berlin for quite a while before she moved to Sarasota, FL with her husband. She has played with Goerges before, currently plays with ALG, who likes to stay at their resort in Sarasota to practice with her. Also, Barbara Rittner and Kveta Peschke are best friends and her husband is German. Kveta speaks fluent German and she talks with all of them in German. She is well-liked on the tour and also great friends with Sabine.

I'm her fan since 1999 I enjoyed her singles game a lot. Very hard and super flat groundstrokes. Indoors people considered her to be TOP10, however, she tore her ACL twice and had several injuries after she made it to No.26 in the world after her comeback in 2004. She then focused only on doubles and became a Wimbledon Champion and No1 in the world
This is her first tournament back after getting injured in Dubai.

And yes, after she won the deciding rubber with Hradecka in 2011 (check video) she officially retired from Fed Cup. She probably saw that it makes sense to retire since Hlavackova/Hradecka were such a good team already while Kveta only played with partners from different countries. However, watching these highlights make me think Hradecka/Peschke could be one of the best teams the sport ever saw...
