She also beat Petrova, Cirstea and Vinci on Miami's hard courts.

Anyway, she's not TOP10 player again yet so there is no reason for her to beat TOP10 players now. And it's not her fault that all her potential opponents from TOP50 losing before matches against her.

Re: Is this Jelena's year?

It's good that she can at least take advantages of the draw, that's kind of starter to build the confidence to make some "noise" by beating someone really high seeded in a slam. One thing is to get a little lucky, the other is to take advantage from it and make few good runs in tournaments like Empress did recently. Beating Nadia, Roberta and Sorana is good as well. And the other matches weren't exactly easy, well they weren't great, sure but at least despite the drama and some crap they were won and led to some good results that must build in Jelena faith in her abilities, motivation. I don't put my hopes extremely high before RG, still some time to go and many things can happen but I hope for a nice run and/or surprise from JJ and I'll be happy. Maybe a QF? Hopefully... would be great.

Re: Is this Jelena's year?

I think she only had a couple good draws and that she managed to use it,but when she plays against some top player, she is losing convincingly...

I mean, the highest player she played against when she won a title in Bogota was Alexandra Cadantu, ranked 96 Lol

The rest of them were not even top 100 players...

Re: Is this Jelena's year?

Let's be honest, you don't get much easier draws than Bouchard in a Premier QF and now Voegele in a Premier SF.

I don't think their is any resurgence going on, sorry..

Which is more than we can say of her 2011 and 2012 - so at least she's winning the matches she should win.

WeŽll take what we can get. Who would have thought that sheŽd in striking distance of a YEC spot in April (100 points behind) with two tourneys in hand to Wozniacki/Errani and Stephens ahead of her with the 900er.

Petrova might be, Vinci is not, she's actually at her highest ranking. And if we go by that, than half the top20 is in bad form....
