We all know that Federer is undeniably the GOAT for men's tennis (and possibly all of tennis, but I consider Martina the best) and Serena Williams, who may not be the GOAT now, but by the end of her career will be the GOAT of women's tennis. Who, according to TF, is/was more dominant in the sport for his or her gender
Serena Williams (15 Grand Slam titles)
Roger Federer (17 Grand Slam titles)
Fun facts: -Serena Williams has played 34 fewer Grand Slam matches than Roger Federer, yet they’re the same age. However, Serena has only two fewer Grand Slam titles.
-Roger has held the top ranking for 302 overall weeks while Williams has held it for a paltry 132 weeks (someone can correct me on this)
-Roger Fed's singles record W/L is 891–202 (81.52%). Serena's is 572–110 (83.87%)
-Serena completed the Career Golden Slam in doubles (has enough gold medals and Grand Slams to complete this twice) in 2001, and singles in 2012. Roger completed the Career Silver Slam in singles in 2012 and has 1 gold medal in doubles.
-Roger has 76 titles while Serena only has 48
-Serena won the "Serena Slam", winning all 4 Grand Slam titles consecutively. Roger has won all 4, just not all consecutively.
-Roger has made ~78 million in prize money, 1st among ALL tennis players. Serena has won ~48 million, 4th among ALL tennis players
-Roger turned pro in 1998, 3 years less than Serena and has won 17 GS titles, an average of ~1 Grand Slam per year. Serena turned pro in 1995 and won 15 GS titles, an average of less than 1 per year.
-Serena has ~78% winning percentage in GS finals (19 finals, 15 wins). Roger Federer has ~70.8% winning percentage in GS finals (24 finals, 17 wins).
-Roger has 6 titles at the YEC compared to 3 for Serena
-Serena first held the number 1 ranking in July of 2002 and last held it in April of 2013 (a span of 11 years between reign). Roger first held the number 1 ranking in February of 2004 and last held it in (forgot month) of 2012, a span of ~8 years.
Blah blah blah, you get the idea. Which one is the better GOAT? I mean in my opinion it would have to be Serena. I mean how can you be the GOAT of tennis if you weren't even the GOAT of your era? I'm talking specifically about Nadal's winning record against him
