Re: Jj 2013 back to top5?

She's rebounded this year, but Top 5 is asking a lot. I don't see any of the Top 5 dropping back this year unless its by injury and then Errani at #7 has been winning a lot to matches, three finals this year already. Top 15 may be a place to start.

Azarenka, Muguruza, Kerber, Beck, Lepchenko, Goerges, Puig, Kasatkina
Lisciki, Robson
Terziyska

Re: Jj 2013 back to top5?

I think top 15 is a reachable goal this year. I think if she didn't have these mental lapses during play she would be top 10 for sure.

Give back 2011 Cincinatti to JJ

She'll be #18 after Miami (at least). Is top 15 really the only reachable goal?

But I'm preparing myself for the worst Expect her to get in #10-14 range this year.

I cheer on scrubs.

There is quite a large gap between 11 and 10. But JJ is defending 5 pointers in all the Tier 1 events so she does have room to go up. But she really needs to actually nab a big title or have a deep slam run, which is seriously just hard to imagine after the past couple of years

She got really lucky with the draw too in this tournament, and she took advantage. That will be key if she wants to move up in the ranking.

Give back 2011 Cincinatti to JJ

Re: Jj 2013 back to top5?

There is also a large gap even getting to #15. She's going to have to go deep in a lot of tournaments ( which may still be wait and see) and hope that MAYBE Cibulkova implodes or Kirilenko goes out early in the summer events she went deep into last year. Vinci is very consistent and it doesn't seem likely she is going to give back a lot.

Jelena has proven that she is amongst the top 4 players in the world this week. Top 5 is very reasonable.

Re: Jj 2013 back to top5?

I'm just curious whether she'll stay focused and motivated. Obviously she was today and if so she is very good but that hasn't been the case very often lately. It would be great to see her back at the top but don't count on it.

My number one: Victoria Azarenka

ATP: Novak Djoković

Top 5's probably too much to ask for this season, but I don't see why she couldn't get to like 8 or 9 in the world.

Wtf. She beats Cirstea and Vinci and suddenly there's an explosion of threads about her. This is merely a blip in the hideous creature's demise.

Hoping for top 15 finish and a slam QF this year. Although she already won the Bogota Slam so anything is possible.
