March saw Shuai, as a qualifier, reach the final at the ITF Circuit event in New Delhi (IND), accumulating seven straight-set match wins in the process.

Unranked, Shuai won her first singles title in only her third attempt on the ITF Circuit at 2001 Baotau (CHN), passing two seeds, including No. 321-ranked top seed Tian Tian Sun in the semi-final. Following Baotau, she reached the semi-final at Hohhot (CHN) and then took her second ITF Circuit title, at 2001 Tianjin (CHN), when No. 395-ranked top seed Nan Nan Liu retired 1-0. She's a young player who is still an amateur but I don't know from what country. She nearly beat Tina Pisnik this year.

Yeah, it seems like she should be a fan of Jan-Michael Gambill's.

I'm pretty sure she's way taller than 1.73m by now.

BTW, she trains at the Evert Academy in Boca Raton.

Peng barely lost to Pisnik. Seles beat Pisnik 7-5 6-1 in Brazil with a serious foot problem. Peng is the quarterfinal queen in the Junior Grand Slams. Seles is the quarterfinal queen in the Womens Grand Slams. Peng has never played in front of this many people or against a player of this magnitude and ability. Call me crazy, but I think Monica is gonna OK here. However...

It's Win-Win for both. Peng gets the experience of a lifetime and Monica <cough> eases her way into the 2003 season.

Prediction: Seles 6-0 6-2

it is an exhibition so I doubt Monica will go for every line, but at the same time she's not gonna give away free points...i think Peng should get about 6 games and a good experience

Good luck to the Aussie and Balkan girls!

Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!

Ennis and Jack found something most people don't ever find in this life...true love, the deepest, purest, most beautiful thing in the universes. Ennis and Jack have TRUE LOVE. They are SOULMATES. They have a love so deep, so pure, so strong, that it transcends everything, it's eternal.

Madame Oracene Williams could certainly teach the French & Belgian crowds on how to upgrade their respective primitive behaviours during a tennis match.
