Evert never dominated like Monica did, if you consider there careers during 1977-2002. Monica was 55-1 at the majors at one point, before the incident. When Monica was at the top, she had no equal, she had no real rival. Evert didn't DOMINATE the way Seles did. Outside circumstances also figure into the equation.

Having done the traditional list a few (dozen) times, here is my variation on the theme. If you define "best" by the variety of styles, colors, and patterns, here, in no particular order, are the 10 players with the best wardrobes of tennis knickers over the past 25 years:

Gigi Fernandez
Chanda Rubin
Anke Huber
Irina Spirlea
Lori McNeil
Rennae Stubbs
Robin White
Barbara Potter (bonus points for slogans)
Debbie Graham
Nicole Provis

Did I miss anyone? (I left off Betty Ann Stuart because she just did it that one time at Wimbledon.) Perhaps Lisa Raymond, but who would she bump?

Those who made the 2150 edition of "the History of Tennis", Ch4 1977-2002.
Evonne G the mum who made a difference.
Martina N - the neverending legend
Chris the baseline queen
Steffi the great
Monica the brave
Jana the girl who cried
ASV the girl who tried
Mary who put the dress back into dress code
Anna the star
Martina the younger
The Williams sisters the power and the hunger.

You mean like when Evert made the finals of EVERY Slam she entered from late 1977 to early 1981 (10 consecutive)? What would you call that? Besides, who's talking about domination? We're talking about the past 25 years CAREER-WISE, aren't we? THAT'S the question and Evert is better overall during that period even WITH 1972-1976 left out. Stop trying to change the topic.
Monica was 55-1 at the majors at one point, before the incident. When Monica was at the top, she had no equal, she had no real rival.
And Navratilova DID when she went 86-1 one year? Please. Again, that wasn't the question posed. We're not talking about a few years, we're talking the past 25 years IN TOTAL. Stay on topic.
Evert didn't DOMINATE the way Seles did. Outside circumstances also figure into the equation.
Look, let me say this again, during the years in question (25 YEARS), Evert won 12 Slams out of her 25 Slam final appearnaces. Monica won 9 out of her 13. Until you can speak to the numbers posted here and stop trying to make it about domination (where Seles STILL isn't a clear-cut winner by the way), I won't take you for anything more than a biased fan. Sorry but your arguments for listing Seles ahead of Evert and Graf just don't hold water here. Even YOU know it.

Nuriboy if Way's parents were born in the 30's, obviously they would have seen people in the 40's and 50's play. From the age difference I'd guess Way was born in the early to mid 60's? Which would make him WAY;) more informed then you, me, and many other board members.

Maybe you shouldn'd have picked 25 years, seeing how 6 of your picks are current top 10er's, 3 are no brainers and ASV is a sentimental choice, no?

My list (no order)

Court(she was palying in 77, wasn't she?)
Navratilova
Graf
Evert
Mandlikova
Hingis
Venus
Serena
Austin
Goolagong
Seles

I have 11 since I'm not sure bout Marge. If she is on the list bump out Hana.

4. Seles
5. Hingis
6. Austin
7. V. Williams
8. Mandlikova
9. S. Williams
10. Sanchez-Vicario
10. Davenport
