1) If the answer to the question is yes do NOT name said player
2) Do NOT speculate or start fights with posters who do answer yes to the question.
3) No Trolling!
Now the admin is out of the way, why do you enjoy watching certain players fail? Do you prefer them always coming up short in tight matches, or do you prefer total annihilation?
I'm just interested in the psychology behind sport fans and I wondered if anyone would care to admit and explain the schadenfreude effect they feel towards certain players.
There is one player I really enjoy seeing losing, especially when she choked and lost from a winning position. Happened quite a few times in 2012...I get great pleasure from seeing her sad face when she walks up to the net to shake hands.
I have to admit I sometimes enjoy seeing players lose, but not always, and not always the same players. I probably enjoy it most when the losing player's fans have excelled themselves with "take out the trash" and "bye bitch" comments before the match has even started.
A bit childish I suppose to want a player to lose because of bad behaviour from her fans, but I'm only human
Yes. I didn't use to dislike her as a person, just as a player but her oncourt attitude and behavior are starting to piss me off, so whenever she plays a tennis match I want her to lose. Though I will not direct insulting comments at her.
Yes, but only because she is so good and wins everything. It's not so much that i enjoy seeing her lose, rather, I like when others step and get an opportunity to get a win over her.
It didn't used to be like this, before there were players I disliked and was happy they lost and it put me in a good mood for a little while afterwards.
I don't think I have matured in that respect, I actually think indifference isn't a good thing for the WTA. You used to have heroes and villians before, maybe Vika is taking over the villian role a little now but the honest truth is that I don't care, I am just indifferent towards her, she doesn't invoke any strong emotions either way.
Of course. It always puts me in a good mood when this pusher who is also an ex world #1 loses. Be it a close match or total annihilation, the sullen faces, bitchy handshakes and helplessness that she exhibits during a loss never fail to brighten up my day
