Player's string tensions.

Does anybody know what tension different top players use on their racquets? I remember seeing a list a long time ago, and most of the were around 60 pounds, with few exceptions, such as Sampras who uses 70, and Monica who uses 90! Any others?

no idea. they had a list in TENNIS magazine a year or so back. its not like a popular thing to discuss. No one starts topics discussing string tensions......it shouldn't influence your tension. You should do what suits you best

I think Monica's tamed herself down the mid 80s now.

Melanie Molitor strings all of Martina's racquets and she never reveals what the tension is.

All i know is that Xavier Malisse has one of the heviest tensions, that's why he breaks a string so often.

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

I think I've got 23 kg.
But what it it? The lower, the more control? Or the lower, the more power?

Low tension means more catapult effect, so more power.
High tension means the strings direct the ball more in the way you swing the racquet, so more control.

Venus, Serena, Monica string there rackets at a higher tension is because they have oversize rackets.

Venus and Serena use the Hyper Hammers which are really light and they have to string them tight or they will have no control.

Monica has like an oversize oversize racket, hehe, and needs to string them very high or she has no control.

I think Roddick strings his racket around 70 LBS with his Pure Drive.

Venus ~ Serena ~ Nadal

Hingis and Henin have 28k as far as i know I use 27k
I have a Babolat Polymono string, they are very stiff strings, but i like that, coz i want to have more control. I'm strong enough to generate the power I want, and i use a Wilson Hammer raquet. Its easy to generate power with this raquet.

WELCOME BACK, MARTINA
