Who's Better??

...the VENUS of 2000 or the SERENA of 2002??

Hmmm...

I don't know if I can pick.

Venus was injured most of the year in 2000, from January to May. Serena was injured from mid-January to March.

Venus went on a 35 match winning streak. Serena had winning streaks, but not that many in a row.

Uhhh, I'll go with Venus.

Serena was better, just by the way she played in 2002 and the fact that she only lost about 6 matches. Venus in 2000 didnt do as well as Serena before Wimbledon too.

Venus Forever......this easy. The year Serena had this year will go down as one of the greatest ever. She had two winning streaks of like 21 and 18. 3 gsīs and after May she lost only 2 matches!! Thatīs domination!!

As results, Serena, you just have to read the numbers.
As "game qualities" Venus.
2000 Venus was on the road to greatness more than 2002 Serena is.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, NURIBOY!!!

Yes, Serena had 3 GS, but she had more time to prepare for that one GS that Venus didn't win. Plus, Venus won the Olympics, which could easily be a slam.

Venus began her season on the red clay, not her best surface, and was rusty, yet still got to the Quarters at the French.

Serena lost two matches after May, Venus lost ONE.

I don't think it is as clear cut as most of you think.

What does it matter? They both are doing great. They are very young, 21 & 22. They have just started to dominate the tour. This is Serena first dominant year. Venus had 2 years when she dominated the tour. Let's see how consistant they will be in the future. Can they be like Graf or Navatolova & really rule the WTA for 5 or more years, let's see. I think Venus knows she has to up her level next year. Just like Serena did this year. Kim, Davenport, Seles, & Capriati, will have something to say about that.

Roseie I agree with you that Venus has to up her level. When that happen it will be Williams williams and more williams. I donīt think that these two girls have any competition when they are at their best. I think when the sisters are at their best, the tour will start feeling like the players were feeling during Grafīs run.

N:
So the chance of winning 4 GSīs in a row isnīt greatness in the making?

Way:
well, not the sheer chance, actually.
But should she *actually* win 4 in a row, she will without any reasonable doubt enter the road to greatness.
Let's wait and see.
I hope she will.
