I have been to:

1993 Virginia Slims of Chicago (Monica's last title before stabbing)

In 2003, I plan to go to:

Oct/Nov - Advanta Classic (Philadelphia)

I am going to try as hard as I can to make it to the Canadian Open this year. I'm saving up money for tickets, and I'll be able to drive then, so hopefully I'll go. I have never been to a tournament before though.

Take plenty of cash for souvenirs, and arrive early. Almost everyday they have players clinics or autograph sessions that you have to queue for. I waited over 2 1/2 hrs for Amelie in France...as did everyone else in Paris.... Anyway, that 10.2 seconds I spent w/her was sooooo memorable.

Also, if you can plan ahead, find out which side of the court the players sit at, and get tickets behind players. That way after the match you can rush the fence and get autographs and pictures. I did that in Chicago and talked to Navratilova, Davenport (who honestly that day wasn't too cordial), Novotna, and my dream, Monica Seles. I showed Mon my tattoo and license plate from my car and we talked about the 89 VS of Houston Final and more. We talked one on one for about 10 minutes, just me and her. My friend was soooo in awe of me and sooo jealous. After I turned around from talking to Mon, I headed up the stairs and nearly passed out. Everything was black and I got so dizzy, I couldn't believe I got my picture taken WITH Monica and got to talk to her like that. So amazing.

I'm totally hooked now so this year I will be going to:

Indian Wells

Chase Manhattan...which I think is now going to be played in Compton

And the Championship in LA again.

Maybe I will go to the tournament in San Diego too, not sure and I'm going to try to see they men play at UCLA.
