Can we say now that is "better for tennis" if Li Na wins this AO title?

If You are not fan of any of finalists, or equally like both players (or teams in team's sports) - do You ever use arguments like "it will be better for this sport if finalist-X beat finalist-Y" to chose for who You will root in that final? This type of statements is often used in near past in cases of Serena, Sharapova, Murray, Federer ... etc... and no doubt that in upcoming case of Australian Open 2013 final between Vika Azarenka and Li Na it will be mentioned in many analysis before match.

If You agree with this type of arguments vote in this multiple choice poll why you think that is really better for tennis if Li Na wins, and if You not agree, there is also options to vote for.

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

The question of this poll is not "Will Li Na beat Azarenka in AO final", but "If Li Na beat Vika, will that be better for tennis sport"

I just watched another "good for tennis" case - Djokovic beat Ferrer

No. I think either winner will be good for tennis.

Maria Sharapova
Agenlique Kerber - Victoria Azarenka - Nastya Pavyuchenkova
Yanina Wickmayer - Laura Robson - Johanna Konta - KiKi Mladenovic - Sabine Lisicki
Ana Konjuh - Aga Radwanska - Julia Goerges - Kimiko Date Krumm - Lucie Safarova -

Re: Can we say now that is "better for tennis" if Li Na wins this AO title?

I don't really buy into the "good for/saved tennis" arguments too much, but if anything 23 y/o Vika winning her second slam would be better in the long run, as she's the one who probably has 5 years of good tennis left in her. Would also make the Azarenka-Sharapoova rivalry more interesting, with Vika coming up on her accomplishments by actually winning more slams.

Better for tennis? I don't know. I can only speak for myself. She's one of my favorite players, so I'm obviously supporting her for the victory in the final, especially after the 2011 final against Kim!

Maria Sharapova Na Li Francesca Schiavone Vera Zvonareva Petra Kvitova

Novak Djokovic Roger Federer Tomas Berdych Juan Martin Del Potro Richard Gasquet

In a way yes. Azarenka is disgusting to watch with her antics and constant facial expression that looks like someone just died.
