Hopefully she'll play something before Miami since she isn't defending any points before then, but knowing Serena she won't

Really, don't even look at me...

Didn't you already got your answer last year when you posted the same question?

I hope she doesn't, she gets mentally fatigued quicker than any player. I think Cinci showed that she was tanking left and right there. It is better for her to play 12 tournies than 16 tournies.

She's 31 now and clearly having some problems staying injury-free for an entire season.
The problem is she wouldn't withdraw from doubles in a slam. She treats it as important as her singles. The only way she will withdraw is if she withdraws from both events, which i don't see happening in a slam.

She goes to Paris, because that is where she lives.

Win Miami, win a clay court tournament or two, then the French, then Wimbledon, then the USO.

Then the haters on this forum will be silenced (again). STEP. BITCHES.

Re: Serious discussion: Where does Serena go from here? -- The Sequel

Unfortunately she might have to drop doubles, which probably isn't happening but, physically the wear and tear on her body is a factor.
And niggling knee or ankle issues is one thing, but her back is where the power is and is very important to her technique and if it doesn't heal properly...then her play will suffer.

Anyway she needs to be easier on her body and I think doubles pushes her too much.

To me her 1st goal should be the French. A second French goes a long way to inching her up the GOAT ladder.

Credit to Sloane for finishing Serena off in a situation where many woudln't have, and props to Serena for fighting to the end.
And..., scene.
