in the last 2 slams, 3 of the Big 4 reached the SF with Kerber taking the place of Sharapova @ Wimbledon and Errani taking the place of Radwanska @ USO

just wondering if you guys prefer to see the SEWTA Big 4 contest the 2013 AO SF or whether you prefer an upset in order to see some new faces :bigwave:

I obviously have my favorites and they are not always top 4, but let the chips fall as they will.

I agree so we need to hope Serena and/or Maria go home to USA early

Na beating Aga won't be a big upset

I'd love to see a competitive great final, which is really unlikely at this point. The only way of having it is without Serena, even though I do like her. So I voted for the Stephens takes place of Serena.

that is what I voted too :tape:

Peak Kuznetsova vs Serena and Peak Li vs Sharapova.

This has been the most boring tournament in recent memory and it's time to spice things up.
yes those match ups of slam champs would be great :woohoo:

The Big 4 option for me.

We were all denied the Serena vs. Azarenka matchup in Brisbane 2013, so this matchup needs to take place to settle some unfinished business and give Serena one last win over a #1 before she takes the #1 spot for the next couple months.

No way in hell is Makarova beating Sharapova unless Makarova switches nationalities before the match as all the Russians bend right over for Sharapova at Slams. Thus Sharapova is a lock for the semis.

Radwanska is having a spectacular season so far and has not dropped a set so she could quite possibly give Sharapova a challenge in the semi's.

I would like Makarova to shock Sharapova, because she is a quality player on her day.

Think it will be the top four though in the Semis, unless someone poisons Serena's drink, Sharapova gets another shoulder injury, Vika goes back to her old frustration days and smashes about five rackets, and Li well she can beat Aga if she plays her game.

However that won't happen unfortunately.

What 'Big Four'?

It's the Big Three, plus any of the next seven or eight ranked players.

Bartoli, Errani, Radwandska, Li, whoever.

I'm OK with Aza-Rena-Aga-Pova Semifinalists...... but Azarenka vs Serena will be a 50 minute beatdown , because Azarenka is awful this year, underpowered, making more UE than in 2012 etc , Sveta can be more a threat or at least make this match competitive
