Re: Which was Serena's easiest road to a Slam title?

Wow, I remember everyone slamming her for the 2010 Wimbledon run, which I have to admit, seems the "weakest" of her slams (when you have 15, not every one will be slaying the dragons, and she's had plenty of hellish draws as well).

2012 US Open, it was 7-5 in the third against the World No. 1 who had beaten her in Miami once, and was holding a slam at the time, I don't call that an easy finalist. Was there anyone who wasn't her "pigeon" the second half of last year?? Doesn't make it a cakewalk draw.

Re: Which was Serena's easiest road to a Slam title?

2010 AO was not a cakewalk. Stosur leads Serena H2H in slams to date, Vika and Na play their best tennis on Plexicushion, and Justine wasn't as good as she was, but she was a dangerous floater with the unknown factor on her side.

Doesn't get easier than Zvonereva in a Wimbledon final though.

USO 2012 would have been a cakewalk if not for the final.

Biggest cakewalk of all time is still Ivanovic's slam win.

Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.

^If anything, her 2010 Australian Open was one of her better runs recently, imo.

2010 AO and W were not easy. Unless you think Na Li, Kvitova and Sharpaova are easy opponents to play against? Or Justine, Azarenka and Li Na again? GTFO. The 2012 US Open was her easiest slam win to date, she does not usually get kind draws and she doesn't need them anyways.

Vika is her bitch, though. Number 1 or not. It shows the lacks of quality when she's no. 1. Venus has had it, Sharapova is frightened of playing Serena, and all of the others (Capriati, Henin, Clijsters, Hingis, Davenport) are retired.

i don't think 2010 AO should be in here stosur wasn't such wus in Australia during those timed because there were no expectations of her. Her reaching the fourth round goes to show that. And Suarez Navarro can be a tough opponent.

No. It´s Kimberly 2011 Australian Open the easiest of all time

Radwanska QF
Zvonareva SF
Li F

Don't know why people always think this. Sure now you look back and say oh haha Jankovic and Safina in the SF/F but to be honest they were among the best players on clay at the time. Safina was on the rise and had taken out Henin, Serena, Sharapova, Dementieva x2 during the clay season. Jankovic was near her peak and contending for the #1 ranking...Serena wasn't good on clay that year and Henin was gone.

Anyway back to Serena, 2010 AO =/= cakewalk. Wimbledon wasn't all that much of cakewalk except for Zvonareva in the final...on the other the 2012 US Open was a cakewalk until the final. Not to take away anything from Serena, she's had incredibly tough draws before and conquered them all.

They were all top-10 players, and Li would win the FO right afterwards. 2010 Wimbledon was way easier in my opinion.

Which dominates the Schnyder QF, Jankovic SF, Safina F lineup.

As you said Safina was on the rise. She was still outside the top 10 at this point and was new to that stage of GS-play. Jankovic was Ivanovic's bitch.

The fact is that at the start of Roland Garros 2008, none of the 7 players Ivanovic beat had ever reached a Grand Slam final, much less won one. Such a line-up has never happened before or since in Open Era Grand Slam history, AFAIK. (except for those rando late 70s RGs and AOs)

NO, I wouldn't call coming back from 2 points away from losing your final at GS easy, plus Vika was very good at that match, the best she's played Serena in fact, although the other matches leading to the USO 2012 final were very easy for Serena.

Wimbledon 2010 is the easiest. the match against Li might be the hardest, but come on, Li was so bad at that match that Serena did not need to do much at all. Sharapova and Kvitova were so up and down, and they were no where to beat Serena, who at the tournament was playing about 70% near her best, and still cruised to the trophy without dropping a set. That's SO cakewalk.

And you gotta be kidding me with the Australian 2010.

Wimbledon 2010, she was terrible off the ground and still pummeled 7 bitches in a row.

And here you are, a black unicorn.
Mythical and mystical since the day that you were born.
