Except the 3rd set where Sveta played decent tennis, throughout the match she was still very erratic, slow and error prone. Kuzy hasn't found her former form yet.
The main reason Kuzy won this match was Caro's very bad level of play. At her peak, she hit deep, consistent groundstrokes and barely made any errors. Her moonballs were effective to draw out errors from her opponents and gave her time to get back into the rallies. Nowadays, she is a step slower, not willing to run after every ball any more. In the past players gave her free points within 5-6 shots, it's Caro now giving players free points ( in the matches with Pervak and Kuzzie) with her errors just by hitting normal, medium pace groundstrokes and from her attempts to hit winners. At the end of the Kuzzie match, Caro almost matches Kuzzie's error counts while hitting way less winners.
If she doesn't get any improvement from now on, it will be hard for her to hang on the top ten spot when the lower ranked players starting to make their moves.
I hope Pushniacki keeps up this form so that she loses in the opening rounds of the AO and RG, to complete her "Wozniacki Slam" that she started since 2012 wimbledon hahahahahaha :happy:
I was so happy that Sveta managed to keep her head together this time! She really started going for her shots in the 3rd and it obviously paid off! :yeah:
