The most interesting thing he said came right at the end of the interview though:
I’ve heard the Australian Open have made it a little bit faster for this year. But I can only imagine it’s marginal.
Thanks. But if it's "only marginal", who cares? And it's obvious Fed didn't actually play on the courts. He's only going by what 'he's heard'. So we'll have to wait and see.

Nothing here, until several players, actually do play on the courts, and confirm this.

Nothing here, until someone actually does (play on the courts).

Hence, the title "TENNIS RUMOUR"

Courts should be sped up but not AO or RG. Anyway even if true I'm sure it's just minor.

It also means that Serena's serve can be a little bit more potent and defensive players would be at a slight disadvantage.

Disadvantage to everyone but Federer you mean. The AO courts as they were were tailor-made for Djokovic's game and Murray's best Slam overall remains the AO, even if he won the USO.

The AO should definitely be sped up quite a bit from what it was last year.

court speed and atmosphere never mattered to serena anyway......if she is fully fit, she is going to blast her way to the title......end of story......

no, federer struggles on fast courts......so does djokovic......they both enjoy time on their racket......it actually looks otherwise when they display their "aggressive game" on lesser ranked players but you have to have a very keen observation to know that it is actually the other way around......they both win with their mad defense.......

whereas murray's counterpunching works well on fast courts......he can simply feed off the pace from the opponent and shoot passes all day......federer and djokovic are not sampras and edberg at the net anyway......

nadal's topspin sits up nicely to be spanked to the corners.......on fast courts it takes off and gets big on the opponent......

It`s good. My faves: Petra and Aga will play a bit better.

Indeed, that is why Federer has 7 Wimbledon titles and only won the French Open once.
