Nor could I, but I wasn't counting "being a dipshit" or "making the same wrong move multiple times" as a mentality issue. Eh, I'm allowed to make arbitrary distinctions at ten to 5.

That's good. The last time I saw her play, which was her USO 4th round match against Ana IVANOMORE... I laughed at her crap service motion...she just fucking spins the ball into play.

Yes, because neither player has shown the desire nor the aptitude to improve their game.

Sloane

Completely expected. Stephens is clearly the better player at this stage of their careers no matter how some people like to twist it. People just need to accept that Laura is not going to play at her US Open form all the time, that is NOT her regular level (yet).

Laura's form this year is disappointing but she'll bounce back.

I really hope so. I just hope she bounces back during the stage of the season where she's got no points to defend. She had flashes of being good during the match against Sloane but then would follow it up with stupid, silly errors. Let's hope Laura brings her A-Game to Melbourne. Or at least avoids facing a seeded player in the first round.

This is my impression too. Like I said last week, I really don't know what people see in her when they claim she's going to be an elite player. I just don't see that she's exceptional in any department of the game.

Even though Laura is certainly the better player , I'm actually kinda surprised she made it as close as this, her result last week had me thinking this was going to be a beatdown Though NID that people would overreact and start writing off her career prospects on the basis of a couple of bad results.

More or so fans like you write her on for couple good results.

We can certainly name more bad results than good results for Hypson's career.

And there's an even greater ratio of bad results to good results for every other player currently Laura's age, and there certainly was for Sloane when she was Laura's age too. Next.

I think Robson prefers fast courts.

Sure there are.

But they don't have tons of fans like you on here hyping them up.

Just go to Melbourne.

We wish Hypson a good luck to draw Li Na, Zheng Jie, Peng Shuai or even Sorana first round.

Are you confusing me with someone else? I'm not even one of Robson's biggest cheerleaders here. But if you can't see that what Laura achieved in the 2nd half of last year, in this era where players never break out young, means that she will EVENTUALLY be PROBABLY an elite player (note: probably -- though, obviously nothing is guaranteed--the "Vaidisova Clause") then I can't help you. And no, 2 bad results when the girl is still 18 years old doesn't change the big picture.
