Can't say I'm shocked. And don't care for the excuse or reason. I just hopes she can get it together at the Australian for her sake.
This one was just brutal. Domi wasn't even playing that well. Domi's serving was supbar through out, and she just tried to get the ball in the court, and that was enough. Kudos to POME, if that's all it took.
She's not normally a Wozniaki or Radwanka type, so I understand and give her a pass. Petra was that bad. Go Domi!
So now in two consecutive matches, Petra has lost to a player she had a 4-2 career record against (Pav's), and a 4-0 one (Cibulkova), and she played much worse in the 2nd one, though she played bad/inconsistent in the Pav's one as well. SMH
Get it together Lady! Are you bored with regular tournaments now?
The upcoming Australian will tell us a lot (at least for this part of the season), where Petra's head and game are at.
Historically, she's done well at the majors, even when she's flopped in other parts of the season, so you can't write her off to excel there.
Petra deserves the criticism she's going to get, regardless of her excuse or reason after. Domi gave her so many 2nd serve opportunities she flubbed (including a easy BP opportunity to start the match--where U knew something was wrong/going to be a bad day) it wasn't even funny. But you can at least try, cant you?
