Australian heat wave....

I bet Su-wei and some players from Thai will perform well in heat.

Remember they are the ones responsible for performance that will produce better matches.
Their are players that can excel in the heat, and their are players that can't. It's all a part of the sport.

In 2015 we will have 3 courts with the roof
If the roof closes on RLA and Hisense, then it's more than likely that they'll stop play on the outside courts

That is a given, and it is not what prompted me to respond to your post.

You asserted "better for the game". How is it better for the game?

Vika, Petra, Aga have issues with extreme heat, and they are all among the top players (***** Well in Petra's case, it is just potentials *****)

Re: Australian heat wave.

They can close the roof so top players shouldn't be too effected. Serena,Maria and Vika will play all their matches on the biggest courts. Petra might be a goner with her asthma.

Re: Australian heat wave.

I actually find the Australian heat very mild because in Sydney it is normally quite dry not humid

Re: Australian heat wave.

temps in Melbourne gonna be less than 20C when qualies start

it all depends where the wind comes from in Melbourne.

Get a wind from W or from N temps shoot up
Wind from S and they shoot down- less so from the E

Good luck to my favs

Vika is the big question.
not when she puts a hat on unfortunately

Re: Australian heat wave.

I'm sure the roof will be used a lot, but these hot conditions really separate the true competitors from the pretenders. It's gonna be interesting to see who can handle it.

Isn't Petra's asthma agitated by humidity, rather than just heat? Brisbane is much more humid than Melbourne, we normally have hotter and drier conditions.
