Re: 2013 Race to Istanbul/Sofia - Week 29

Can Halep win that million dollar if she wins the title in Sofia or was that scrapped a long time ago?

Re: 2013 Race to Istanbul/Sofia - Week 29

Btw, I did not know Serena has already officially qualified for Istanbul!

Is it true? If so, how so there is still no official announcement from the WTA because qualifying after RG gottabe some sort of records, right? I mean, Safina qualified in August in 2009 and there were news stating she was the quickest to qualify for a YEC or something like that . Or is there a news but I just didn't know?

There were no official news. I just calculated by possible combinations based on existing competitors.

It went much earlier for Serena simply because too many of her competitors received forced zeroes or can only play limited number of tournaments outside of Premier series.

And where the fuck is Vika getting those points? I feel like she's played 6 tournaments total.
Well that´s not that far off. She has actually only completed five events plus the withdrawals from Brisbane, Indian Wells and Wimbledon. Her total from just four events (4420 points) would be enough to qualify for the YEC.

I am not a fan of the direction a lot of Maria threads have taken over the last 12 months.

The undertone is very disappointing, aggressive and the comments are sometimes rude to a player just trying to earn a living, playing her hardest and having a good amount of success given her god given, natural talents.
You made the list: Cibulkova (President), Mladenovic, Wozniacki, Kerber, Cornet, Watson.
Please note this is a signature about Tatjana Maria

Sara. Had she won a few Rounds at Australian Open she would challenge Vika for a bigger place.

Well, at least JJ has Sofia in case she flops this US Open Series and cannot make YEC

Whatever she does will be fine in my eyes

Serena collecting 7k points until after Roland Garros is quite a feat.

WTA YEC sucks with announcements, Like last year they announce the qualifiers late unlike ATP YEC.

That is only for doubles, they have scrapped that from singles if i am not Mistaken. WTA could actually award a wildcard for the 8th spot.

Suddenly semifinal points on the line for Kvitova, Jankovic, Wozniacki and Stosur in the 4th quarter of Toronto. The rest of the quarter is really soft with only Cirstea and the CSN/Hampton winner as a serious threat for these four players.

Oh my god Wozniacki SO lucky Azarenka withdrew. Aza gives her an IW SF and now and amazing chance at a SF in Toronto

For just this tourny let's hope and pray JJ finds her inner hard court GOAT and takes that thing out (or Cirstea idc) in Round 3
