Drama at Israel National Championships: Peer refuses to shake teen's hand after match

http://www.tennis.com/news/2012/12/p.../#.UNS7v6zJKvg

Peer refuses to shake teen's hand after match

Former Top 20 player Shahar Peer refuses to shake the hand of her opponent, 18-year-old Deniz Khazaniuk, after beating her 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinals of the Israel Open.

“You’re an embarrassment to the State of Israel,” Peer was reported to have said by the Israeli media.

Earlier this year, in an interview with the Maariv newspaper, Khazaniuk criticized Peer and the rest of Israeli Fed Cup team.

“She’s one big fake,” said Khazaniuk, who also said that during Fed Cup, Peer and Israeli player Julia Glushko “only belittled me and criticized me all the time. They humiliated me. That is not the way a national team should be handled. It’s the way you do things in the neighborhood.”

But I, being poor, have only my dreams
I have spread my dreams under your feet
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams

She must be as retarded as Peer herself

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Peer should settle down. She's irrelevant too.

Peer should have acted as the elder state-woman of Israeli tennis and shake the youngster hand.
Especially after she soundly beat her.

She claimed Khazaniuk is an embarrassment to Israel, but her own actions are doing just that.

it sound hilarious to me. forget the bombs, settlements, suicide attacks (see i'm broadening it to include palestinans too, so as not to be too controversial ), the real problem with the "state of israel", the real embarassment is clearly Deniz Khazaniuk

I may have misread the first post, but Khazaniuk criticism took place much earlier; it is Peer who thrash talked after she beat her.

That was some drama. And annoying Peer always in the middle of the controversy

Israeli sports administrator accuses Shahar Peer of "unsporting conduct"
