Re: Peak on Grass: Sharapova VS Novotna VS Davenport VS Hingis?
Hingis hit 50 winners and 10 errors in her Wimbledon '97 final victory over Novotna, who was playing the "best grass court tennis ever by a woman" according to GOAT Chris Evert.
Your fav could NEVER and has NEVER had a winner/error ratio like that, let alone in a Wimbledon final.
That being said, grass was Hingis' weakest surface, and although her peak level of play on any other court in the world is FAR past scrubs like Sharapova, on this one surface it is up for debate.
Novotna > Davenport > Hingis = Vulturepova
"It’s always been, ‘I wonder what she’s got, Sharapova?’, because I don’t see that she’s got something that special… Or do you know? Can you tell? What’s so exceptional about her?”
