Were you equally shocked when Errani reached the third round of Wimbledon in 2010? Just curious.

Her game is suited for clay, and maybe slow HC, so it is shocking to see her winning on the supposedly fastest surface... Actually Shvedova did a great job in that 3rd round match showing how to play on grass, with beautiful serving, volleys and agressive gameplay. Honestly I was shocked it was not easier for Shvedova.

Errani has won matches at Wimbledon for the last four consecutive years. So I guess that must leave you pretty shellshocked at Wimbledon on an annual basis then.

Yeah, they have both won 6 matches at Wimbledon in their careers. The difference is Sammy took 10 years to win her 6 matches whereas Sara got them in just 5 years.

I am not sure highlighting the fact Errani wasn't good enough to play MD at Wimbledon that many times helps your point.

Vesnina def Venus
Razzano def Serena
Errani def Stosur
Begu def Caroline
Kirilenko def Kvitova
Vinci def Ivanovic 6-0 6-0 (the scoreline, not the loss, was the real shock)

It doesn't highlight that at all. If anything it highlights that Errani is 3 years younger and took 2 years longer to break into the top 100.
