BRUSSELS -- Kim Clijsters will play a ceremonial farewell match on Dec. 12 against Venus Williams.


Clijsters retired from tennis after the U.S. Open in August but announced on her website on Monday that she will face her longtime rival in the Kim's Thank You Games at the Antwerp Sports Palace.

It's lovely that Venus agreed to this. I hope this will be streamed. It is nice that her farewell match will be against a long time rival. Losing to Laura was a symbolic changing of the guard but it would have been nice to lose against someone she's had more history with.

Regardless, it would be fun to see her play matches against, preferably Kim playing in Hopman cup represent Belgium as it doesn't have a decent female player at top level now. For single matches, I'd like to Kim have rematches with Serena, Vika and Maria before Venus. A match with Aga would be interesting to see whose defense is better at the moment.

i don't get this...will she never ever play exo anymore? That's probably just a publicity stunt to get the most belgian people as possible to go

She should have a farewell tour and have to play Vika then Maria then Venus and then the final level boss Serena. That would be so funny.
