Re: Which city would you want to see the WTA Championships 2014 & beyond be held?

Kazan has a much better sports tradition than I realized, but hard to imagine huge crowds turning up in brutally cold weather. The stadium for Moscow is already 60 percent empty for the finals and 90 percent empty for the semis.

The crowds looked good when Sharapova played an exo in Singapore a few years ago, so I don't think it would be a situation of empty stands. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_At7lrcLkRQ

Mexico City is the best option for a rowdy/boisterous crowd like Istanbul, but they would HAVE to keep the tickets affordable.

Singapore would be so amazing (for me). The indoor stadium has a capacity of 13000 so it can hold the same numbers as Istanbul. And Singapore really should have a WTA event before the Australian Open.

Kazan! Russia DESERVES this tournament more than any of the following countries.

mexico, no brainer. matches will be packed and crowed will be great. great opportunity to grow tennis, especially women's tennis in spanish speaking countries. the fact the doha is even being considered is ridiculous - the matches were always empty and there was absolutely no atmosphere - it was pathetic.

I've been to Tianjin. it's actually a gorgeous city, much better than Beijing even though they are practically neighbors A lot cleaner and I felt like I was in a Europe instead of China when I was there

• Maria Sharapova • Dominika Cibulkova • Ksenia Pervak • Eugenie Bouchard •
• Andy Roddick • Mikhail Youzhny • Grigor Dimitrov • Novak Djokovic • Benoit Paire •

Mexico city sounds awful.
Kazan would be nice if Safina would playing. Sochi would be better though.
Tianjin is kinda weird, why would they want a huge womens event in the same area as Beijing. Why not Shanghai or Hongkong area? Also really needs Li Na to qualify to make it a success.
Singapore would be best imo.

Also if they chose an Asian host (or even Mexico), probably better just move Dubai-Doha to October and hold the European indoor tournaments between AO and IW.

I wonder if anyone who criticizes Kazan has ever been there.

Personally I'd love YEC to be held in Mexico City, but I think Singapore is the best bet.
