WTA-finals that felt like Slam finals?

Watching Maria vs Vika today, I realized how the Beijing crwod had a certain "atmosphere" of a Slam final. Of course, today's match didn't really have the quality AT ALL of a Slam final, but it reminded me of this one:

Any other WTA-match you can think of where the players were so much into the match? And so the crowd?

Oh God. Are you Na-Mug's pet? Beijing is a terrible tournament with absolutely zero atmosphere whatsoever.

If you bothered to watch the video he posted, or any of Vika's or Maria's matches this week, you would know.

Anthony is right. If any of you still think Beijing is a terrible tournament, then you're wrong. I was surprised to see such an engaging crowd this past week. I'm not saying it is the 5th Slam or anything, I was just saying it had a great atmosphere...

Anyway, this is not the point of the thread. You guys can nominate other matches which felt like Slam Finals from any other tournament

Keep making assumptions that you are completely wrong about. I watched the tournament and don't find it has any special atmosphere. And I'm not the only one who feels like this.

Re: WTA-finals that felt like Slam finals?

There is a Serena-Venus match that comes to mind but I can't remember which tournament

Sharapova-Kim San Diego final was an exciting match like a Slam final but I think the whole location and the knowledge and realism that it was a small stadium makes it seem just like a WTA final for me.

Actually there's a lot of atmosphere - or is that ozone...
