Even so, I'd argue that Victoria has done a good job of scheduling. It's obvious she wants to be the YE #1, and she has scheduled accordingly.
Serena doesn't need a YE #1 at this point in her career. Vika does. She's still trying to make her mark and establish herself as a top player from her generation.
I hope that there comes a time when Vika can sit atop a pile of Grand Slams and weeks at #1 and have exactly the same attitude Serena does.
Rank (not computer rank, but as the best player of your generation) has its privileges, and you don't have to be a Serena fan to concede the obvious. Venus, Kim and, were she still playing, Justine, have earned the same props.
Definitely agree about Azarenka's scheduling. Her success proves and bares that out.
And she has snared her the #1 ranking in the process.
It is certainly well-deserved.
My beef wasn't with what you posted, as I agree with all of your points here.
My problem was in reference to others
who attempted to call Serena's scheduling into question.
Just like Azarenka's scheduling, Serena's has also worked exceedingly well for her.
People (obviously not you) forget Serena's age and style-of-play are mitigating factors.when scheduling.
But of course, there are those who know
this but just want to cast shade and misstate the truth.
