Maria is a player who was able to compete against the very best players in the game, players who are infinitely more talented than Vika and she found a way to figure them out, there is no reason for her not to figure Vika who is not as talented as Maria's previous rivals.
Now that Maria finally won her major on red clay she needs to find a way to become good on HC again, 4 losses in finals (0 sets won ) that's just unacceptable I want a major on HC next year.
Well well, aren't you presumptuous. Now Maria will win a slam in two consecutive years?

Please, like you haven't seen them before. Sadly you have become irrelevant in your absence. I was expecting a much more sensational comeback.

Re: Beijing F: Azarenka def. Sharapova 6-3, 6-1

Not surprised that Sharapova is just 1-6 vs. Azarenka/Serena this year..but I was surprised to learn that her overall record vs. Grand Slam champions during the season in which they won a slam is pretty mediocre. She has gone just 12-34 (27%) against Slam champions during the seasons in which they won a slam.

Serena - 53%
Venus - 44%
Henin - 41%
Azarenka - 33%
Kuznetsova - 31%
Clijsters - 30%
Sharapova - 27%
Jankovic - 26%
Wozniacki - 25%
Ivanovic - .1%
Radwanska - .04%

Venus-Serena-Anna

No, a better player wouldn't have lost to the same opponent match after match. A better should have learned to change strategy of play and get revenge. See Serena.

So, Serena winning 2 slams and the YEC wouldn't make her player of the year? You're such an irrelevant troll and that shade wasn't even clever at all.

She had a great summer but lets not forget she flopped in Australia and got embarrased in the first rd at Roland Garros.

She's better in terms of accomplishments; in terms of level of play, Vika is way ahead of her now.

Hmm at their peak or close to it no. Maria is clearly better.

And on a normal, average day, Vika beats Pova 6:3,6:0 or 6:1,6:4 or 6:3,6:1 or...

Azarenka - Pennetta - Hantuchova - Ivanovic - Wozniacki - Stephens - Stosur
