the fact that most tennis analysts would agree that Hingis was a better player than Sharapova, and not winning a Slam final against Errani still put her ahead in terms of greatness, or that's what most people think here
Hingis didn't win RG playing in Final vs Majoli .... and Errani is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Majoli

You have to be joking. Majoli reached #4 in the world WITHOUT 1997 RG in her ranking, won 8 titles Tier II and above, and made 6 GS quarterfinals. This is not even a matter of opinion. Majoli is better than Errani.

The Fact that she's never won RG, despite all these chances should be very painful for her fans, it makes her achievements look less great than they actually are

Worst blown opportutinity - match vs Majoli, because it's like Dementieva losing to Myskina.

It is obvious you only began following tennis yesterday if you think Errani is a better clay court player or better player than Majoli. Majoli has won numerous Premier titles on clay in her carer and was a solid top 10 player for years, and a solid top 5 player most of 1997. Errani is a 1 year fluke who will dissapear completely next year.

What on earth are you talking about. Majoli has 8 career title but all 8 are tier 2 level or higher, several tier 1s and a Slam title. Errani has no title that is even tier 2 or Premier level, not a single one. As for the slams Errani has only made it past the 3rd round of 3 slams her whole career so Majoli's slam record is far better too. Losing in slam quarters to Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, or even Lindsay Davenport is not a poorer result than beating Roberto Vinci or some other bum in the quarters to get to a semifianl.

Charleston in 2002, Hamburg in 1997, French Open in 1997 (bigger than a Premier obviously), I think one other one in 1996 I am forgetting too.

What is Errani's biggest title on clay? Acapulco or Palmero.

before RG 1997 she had only 1 title on clay - Hamburg and it was Tier 2

Moreover I watch this final vs Hingis..... Majoli's strikes and ROS all coming in the middle of hardcourt She would have been bagelled by anyone in top 10 of 2012

Hingis was a more favourite with her 37-0 winning streak than Sharapova in her Final

Re: Worst blown opportunity at RG for Hingis?

Hamburg is still much bigger than any title Errani has won on any surface, and Majoli went on to add two bigger clay titles, Roland Garros, and even winning Charleston, years past her prime. So Errani is close to as good on clay how, her Palmero titles, her ugly unwashed hair, or just because you want Maria to look good but forget to not go out of your way to be an idiot in doing so.

I am not even talking about the validity of Maria's French Open title vs Hingis not winning one. Maria deserved it since she delivered, Hingis in 97, and every other year did not. You dont even have to build up a loser like Errani to do so, Maria beat better players at that French alone than Errani. I was disputing your claim about Errani being better than Majoli since it is disrespectful to represent a past player who was much better than Errani to claim otherwise. You can keep squawking all you want but their results are there for all to see. Everyone knows who was better unless Errani achieves alot more which is unlikely, 2012 will always be her peak.

As for Majoli being double bageled by anyone today, please. Her groundstrokes from the 97 final would have blown someone like Errani off the court, the same way Maria did. What does Errani have to hurt with, her powerful moonballs.

Re: Worst blown opportunity at RG for Hingis?

Are you really not only comparing but saying that Errani is greater than Majoli? Any Errani wouldn't win more than 4 games against 1997 Majoli

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.
