Question Anyone thinks that Aga and Angelique could suffer from burning out after this season?

Aga has a 57/16 ratio, which equals to 73 matches
Angelique has 60/18 = 78 matches

IMO that's a huge amount of physical effort, especially for Aga because she has a much delicate figure than Angie. However sometimes when I see Angie's defense on her backhand side I'm impressed and at the same time worried that she'll hurt her back with the way she uses her muscles. So low and with such quick turn/twist.

I'm worried that they may commit the same mistake as JJ.
Thoughts?

Pretty much the truth.

Re: Anyone thinks that Aga and Angelique could suffer from burning out after this sea

Errani is 55/19 which makes it 74 altogether. Plus 52/19 doubles matches = 71 (total of 145 s&d matches!). Vinci only 41/24 = 65 in singles + 53/10 = 63 in doubles (total of 128 s&d). Whereas Aga played only 7/7 doubles (73 + 14 = 87 s&d) and Angie – 4/7 (78 + 11 = 89 s&d). Ula Rad played 47/27 = 74 singles + 17 doubles (total 91 s&d).

By the way, in 2011 Bartoli played 86 singles’ matches, and Wozniacki 80 s’ matches, 80 in 2010, 91 in 2009 and 78 in 2008 (no stats for doubles).

Besides – playing too much wasn’t the main reason of Janković’s slump: Jankovic: Where Did It All Go Wrong??

doesn't aga do this every year? People have been expecting her to burn out for a while and she just keeps going.

I mean, eventually it has to catch up to her. No individual can sustain this for so many years.

Last year, only two of the YE top ten played less tournaments than Aga.

Maybe Kerber, because Radwanska has already burnt out during the US Open Series. Errani is already going through that phase.

Last year Aga played just 64 singles' matches. In 2010 - 52, in 2009 - 67

Angie, yes, I am worried. Her game is extremely physical and taxing, she needs to take it easy with the scheduling next year. IMO she's looked burned out for months.

52 is a good number, but i think 64 and 67 are still causes for concern.

Kerber will be fine next year, but I agree, she has been burned out since the French. The Eastbourne final, Cinci final, US Open match against Errani and her doubles match there has shown her hit the wall in the 2nd set. Sort of expected, thinking that she had 50 more wins heading into the US Open than she did last year.

Really curious to see what she does at YEC.

Aga's main problem is that her shoulder in a lingering problem. Seems similar to Zvonareva in that she maxed out, reached #2, reached the Wimbledon final, then her body broke down.

She's beaten Serena, Kvitova, Wozniacki and Venus twice since Roland Garros.

Well, even Serena played already 57 matches in 2012. Azarenka - 67, Sharapova - 63. If you are a top eight - top ten player and participate in the YEC, ca. 65 matches is a minimum to keep the position in the ranking which corresponds to your real abilities.

All players who play a physical game and don't have a wise schedule will burn out and it's never pretty.
