Re: Queen Agniezska Hits A Tweener

It's basically a show off shot when you've already lost the point anyway... Well sometimes the point can be won, like in this case, or Federer vs Djokovic at USO 2009, but most of the time the ball either hits the net or is an easy put away. So not being to hit it is not a huge disadvantage.

Re: Queen Agniezska Hits A Tweener

Sorry for Aga (who only has hit two so far) but the queen of tweeners remains Gaby

But when it comes to hitting one single "goat" tweener, no one beats peak Pierce

Re: Queen Agniezska Hits A Tweener

Sveta can play tweener too But she's irrelevant these days

Anyway, this shot is overrated, I mean it's not important enough to be a weapon. Even if someone can play this, she/he is able to use it 1/2 times in match.

I think that depends on your opponent and your own game. If you play someone like Radwanska, being able to return lobs is not exactly irrelevant. Of course, nowadays where net-play is not winning you anything in the first place, optimizing at this dead end of the game is still nonsense.

Agreed. And she doesn't get enough credit for it, especially in a board where everybody seems to miss this kind of tennis so much.

I don't think Serena, Maria, Vika, Na, Petra can hit a tweener to save their lives

actually this whole highlight is

Serena - too many things in the way

Maria - too tall & elegant ... really!

Vika - She rather hit something else... like you in the head

Na - she might hurt herself

Petra - too much work

Have you ever tried hitting a tweener in practice or a match? If you set it up correctly, it's not that hard to do. I'd imagine a pro would only attempt them if they felt it was safe, or a last resort anyway.
I wouldn't count on it. She tried to hit one at Rally for Relief and failed miserably.

Queen Bethanie hit one this year at Indian Wells in doubles.

And here you are, a black unicorn.
Mythical and mystical since the day that you were born.

Schiavone hit a great one and won the point in the 2010 USO. Sveta won the point with one against Demented in the 2008 Dubai final.

Re: Queen Agniezska Hits A Tweener

More talented because she can hit a tweener from a middle of the court shot What from the troll OP next.

The rest of the top 10 can win points more efficiently, the tweener is a shot of desperation when you are being rushed and can't get into position in time. The greater talent is controlling play so that you're never being rushed like that in the first place.
