Didn't see the match but can't help feeling the rain saved Caro here. Bojo seemed to have the momentum before the break, but despite breaking serve she seemed to lose the plot badly after that.

Wozniacki´s defense looks a bit better again, because she hits with a bit more depth, but her offensive tennis is still lacking. You can still reset rallies over her forehand.
Indeed. Wozniacki was in her peak defense form

Caroline can't much better than this, Bojana was just not able to close it out. If only Bojana had had her serve, Wozniacki would have been roasted. Overall, Bojana was playing a good match and that number of UEs doesn't tell much, Bojana was dictating play and moving Caroline to the limit. That rain was unfortunately Bojana's enemy, it broke her upbeat momentum. She should've won, really, but didn't have confidence to close it out. She had it.

Re: Tokyo R1: Wozniacki def. Jovanovski 6-0 3-6 6-4

I didn't catch the last few games after the rain delay, but Karolina has obviously worked on adding another weapon to her game- trying to intimidate opponents with her deep-throated KAMANs.

Otherwise, she played well in the first and reverted to Duracell bunny as usual in the last two. The FH was hilarious, toothless as ever. Bojana was somehow smart enough to hit at that side over and over again, being slightly more patient than usual.

When the rain delay came, I guess the result was NID.

Finally!! Great win. The first set is awesome from Caroline, havnt saw her playing so good for a long time, than second set is a let down, so much errors and havnt see the third, but glad she can get it through.

Bojana, you did great already today, keep the errors down and you will be a great player

Re: Tokyo R1: Wozniacki def. Jovanovski 6-0 3-6 6-4

Good first set by Caro but she's still having problems breaking the rhytm of a ballbashing opponent who's hitting the ball really well as BJ was on half the points the last two sets. At least Caro showed agression for part of the match but she's still prone to go into waiting mode when the other player pulls the trigger quickly. Having steadier nerves than your opponent is also a way of winning, though.

Madison Brengle: "I'd rather chew on a pinecone than play this match (against Wozniacki)."
Nicole Melichar: "Do you want me to go find you one?"
