Re: Has this US Open lived up to your Expectations?

My two faves, Vika and Serena both in SF, and then another top player, Maria, also in the SF line-up. Not sure I would have picked Errani as the fourth player in SF before the tournament, but 3 of 4 aren't bad. Also, we have had some good matches here and there, which is also to be prefered. So yes I would say it has

Yes for once it actually did. All we need now is a three setter in the final.

The favorites to win Serena-Maria-Vika are in the semifinals .

No, not really. And for the same old reasons: lack of competitive matches and real rivalries.

3 of the 4 I'd most want playing in the finals are present...

...and I pretty much knew my 4th, Venus, wouldn't be here, so...

...

.

If your fave's coach isn't Richard Williams, that's just her first problem...

Please, Errani is in the semifinals...

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

As usual, the quality has been subpar. Men's tournament has been interesting though I'm upset Fed lost.

I always wanted to be somebody. If I made it, it's half because I was game enough to take a lot of punishment along the way and half because there were a lot of people who cared enough to help me.

In some respects yes.

Good
Vika in Semis
Sesil Qualifying
High quality Vika-Sam match makes a change from what we're used to

Bad
Makiri losing before Serena
Sesil not making Thundercheva vs Sugarpova happpen
Robson's run
Makiri/Petrova losing after beating WS

Re: Has this US Open lived up to your Expectations?

Yes the three best players of the year in the semifinals, Vika and Serenka being two of them

but again there was some disappointment since kvitty and na lost so badly

Re: Has this US Open lived up to your Expectations?

Thought it would be ordinary and it has, conclude by silly 3rd set tie breakers and the rain. I have found this slam the least interesting. I guess at all the other slams we had SOMEONE making a big run to the semi's/finals.

Maria Sharapova
Maria Kirilenko
Sabine Lisiki
Ana Ivanovic

Still miss My best player Elena Dementieva

Re: Has this US Open lived up to your Expectations?

For some reason this year it doesn't feel like a real US Open. I feel like I've been watching a Premier Mandatory tournament... I don't really know how to explain it.
