Out of them all I can only see Schiavone retiring next year. Maybe Venus...

Age is just a number..

Is more how a player feels about his physical condition.. If a player feels, that is possible to be competitive with 30, 33, 34 or more, why not??

And a athlete, dedicates great part of his life, to the sport. Say "Good Bye" to something you did all your life, is extremely hard..

Vera Zvonareva / Elena Vesnina / Ekaterina Makarova

Svetlana Kuznetsova / Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova / Maria Kirilenko / Valeria Savinykh

Anastasia Myskina / Maria Sharapova / Elena Dementieva

Re: Twelve players born 30 or more years ago, who likely to retire next?

I highly doubt any of them will retire in the next few months - maybe except Foretz-Garcon.

Franny just loves the game - and why retiring? She had her maiden slam and her best year on tour began just few days shy of her 30th birthday.
Czink came back from an injury few months ago - why retiring when she worked so hard to get to that level of play again (top 100)?
Lucic and Zakopalova are enjoying their best years from many years. Lucic just had her 3rd round at Wimbledon which was a huge flash from her best days on tour.
Pennetta is healing injury for the rest of the season. Petrova is in top 20 in singles again and top 10 in doubles, enjoying huge success in her latest doubles tournaments.
AMG had her biggest final about a year ago. She has had some tough months, but no reason to retire.

Pironkova.Petrova.Kerber.Schnyder. Stosur.Jankovic.Kuznetsova.Kostova.Sevastova.
Pavlyuchenkova.Niculescu.Krunic.Radwanska.Date-Krumm.Kvitova.Vinci.Bacsinszky.

Muguruza.Vesnina.Falconi.Paszek.Shvedova. Konta.Van Uytvanck.Voegele

See those four retiring at the end of the year, although I'm not sure about Zakopalova.

78 >>> Dominguez Lino, Lourdes 31/03/81
86 >>> Foretz Gacon, Stephanie 03/05/81
30 >>> Zakopalova, Klara 24/02/82
36 >>> Medina Garrigues, Anabel 31/07/82

FLAVIA PENNETTA

US OPEN CHAMPION 2015

Thank you for all these moments over the last years! Supported you until your final point!

This. A players time for retirement is not something you can really anticipate effectively anyway. It happens when they are ready and only then. I say just enjoy them as long as they continue to play.

Surely players like Golovin, Pierce, Capriati, Dementieva, Myskina, Vaidisova, Hingis and maybe even Safina at this point all prove that you can never tell what age a player will retire.

Re: Twelve players born 30 or more years ago, who likely to retire next?

Besides likely Schiavone (maybe even after RG) I think a Venus who can no longer compete @ the highest level will after the season. And a Hantuchova who will turn 30 in April seems near the end of her career.

Venus has other business interests (like fashion design and interior decorating) and the multilingual Dani maybe could become the head of the European division of Mohawk Floors, of course as "Danielle Anotoxfa".

I'm not sure what Francy's plans are post-tennis, but ITA will probably have another general election within the year. Maybe she'll be in Parliament this time next year.

Why on earth would Dominguez Lino and Zakopalova retire when they are both clearly playing as well as at any time in their career?

For that matter, even Foretz Gacon shows no major sign of decline.
