Re: Which Night Session would you rather go to?

I don't like Djokovic, but I love Rena, so I guess it would depend on who are the lower-ranked/non-American players

Victoria Azarenka

Konjuh - Kvitova - Lisicki - Martínez Sánchez - Muguruza - Serena - Venus - Vinci

Cirstea - Date-Krumm - Kanepi - Krunic - Mattek-Sands - Mladenovic - Puig - Safarova - Schiavone - Shvedova - Suarez Navarro - Vogele

Re: Which Night Session would you rather go to?

I didn't even bother watching Djok last night, watched first set of MJMS-Lucic and the final set of Baghdatis (such a trooper, so likeable!) and when that wrapped up headed over to AA. I must say $24 for a night session at AA in first few days is pretty good.

And if your life were gold, how long do you think you'd stay living?

Ofcourse the session with the named players and top athletes.

If I just wanted to watch competitive but mediocre level matches between scrubs, I would buy the (much) cheaper tickets for the outer courts or visit some random international clay tournaments

If I were to pay money to fly over to the US to watch tennis, I'd definitely give my all just to watch the famous top players playing no matter what.

I watched dolgopolov/levine on 17 last night. You couldn't pay me to sit through two massacres on ashe in the nosebleeds. You get so much more of an appreciation for how good these players are up close. And you get to experience the rowdy/drunk fans who are calling Dolgopolov "dog boy" the whole match.

Much as i like the Djoker i'm not very interested in his matches against Lorenzi and co. So second for me. I wouldn't dream of ever paying a sh*tload of money to watch famous players with binoculars on Ashe either.

well to be fair the night session tickets in the first 3 days are not that expensive, but beyond that, yes.

Yes but as you said yourself the matches are boring as hell. I haven't seen all of that first round Vika match either, just some glimpses. Glad for her it went so well but it's just not interesting to watch. And Ashe stadium really doesn't look so inviting.

My GF is a very fanatical tennis follower but she always prefers to go to Halle and Rotterdam instead of going to the big tournaments in the Enormodomes as she calls them.

I almost can't be bothered to go see anything on Ashe.

Scully "No! You're bat-crap crazy."

Re: Which Night Session would you rather go to?

It depends on your situation.
If you're flying from Singapore, you want to see the top players.

Lisicki vs Cirstea was a somewhat close match but would VIP and suites owners be happy to see that? Not really.
There's a much bigger buzz when Serena is around than anyone else.

Djokovic tries way too hard, everyone knows that.

Re: Which Night Session would you rather go to?

Serena at night is golden. Don't care about seeing Djokovic at all, unless he's getting beat by someone.

That is a good price. Makes up for having to sit through the opening ceremony.
