So Sloane hasn't qualified for the Olympics yet? Does that mean Mathilde Johansson still has a chance?

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Sloane is very close to qualifying she's WON her third round match meaning she's going to jump big time in the rankings from currently being ranked number 70. This is going to get interesting for the USTA. As I have said before I think Venus Williams should be left OFF the team because the younger American women deserve a chance to go to the Olympics. Venus already has won several gold medals.

Both Stephens and Lepchenko need QF to overtake Venus.

Venus can't play sole doubles because Liezel/Lisa have taken the two doubles spots. If she wants to play those events, she has to qualify in singles.

Venus should have tried to win one more round. Honestly though it's time for her to retire. Quite depressing seeing her play now. From the error filled performances to the horrendous fashion designs. It's time to call it a day. I will always have fond memories of her Wimbledon victories. Specifically 2005. That was for me the best moment in tennis. But we have gone from that to a live Gong Show.

One nation can send maximum six women to London. Maximum four in singles and two teams in doubles. Meaning that, if one team is made of doubles specialists, then the other teams must be made of singles players.

so in case of USA, Huber/Raymond are fixed and other 4 players in singles will form second team, whoever that might be?

Venus and Serena will get to olympics, no matter what others do.

It's already been decided, simply because it's on grass, they ain't gonna deny the usa another title.
