J Konta

Is Johanna Konta switching to GB, just looked through the 50K Nottingham she is listed as GB! But WTA Rankings lists her as Aus?

Re: J Konta

The British women’s scene will also become more interesting with yesterday’s long-awaited official nationality switch of Johanna Konta, a rising 21-year-old ranked 208, from Australia to GB.
The Sydney-born, Eastbourne-based player, whose parents are of Hungarian origin, will slot in as Britain’s No 6.

Whether she will be universally welcomed remains to be seen, for these things have a habit of causing ructions, especially when the issue of handing out valuable wildcards to British tournaments comes into play.

Re: J Konta

It'll be a shame if she's not welcomed considering she's essentially been a British player in all but name since she was very young.

Shame she didn't come from Iraq, she would have got her passport years ago.

Doing the East Riding proud since 2001
