Re: Brussels QRD1:Sania Mirza bts Beygelzimer 7-5,6-4

WTF

Liar

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Puzzling, isn't ?

Maybe she considers this as a preparation for doubles at RG.

No big mistery here... there was an empty slot in the qualies so she played, just like other doubles players - Rosolska or Spears. Happens very often when the qualifying draw doesnt have enough players.

Ana Ivanović.

Re: Brussels QRD1:Sania Mirza bts Beygelzimer 7-5,6-4

Often doubles players fill in the gaps in draws, nothing to lose etc. Spears beat Rus 63 61 in Madrid recently QR1 being a good example. Natalie Grandin and her doubles partner often fill in to.
Beygelzimer has a sp at 65....Suprising
Result after Beygelzimers good results recently..... Patchy match, from 12 Mirza led 42, then was 45 30-40 down, and then hit a lot of winners. Yuliya had same old problem though, 39% of points won on first serve with a first serve % of 79....eek

Some posters claim she is just filling in for shortage of single players in qualies, but there is no solid proof that is the reason.

Re: Brussels QRD1:Sania Mirza bts Beygelzimer 7-5,6-4

She only said she wants to concentrate on doubles..In Madrid and Rome she was not even able to enter the Q draw..so she did not play..
And she is not playing FO qualies because she wants to play Brussels doubles and she is hoping to go deep here in doubles and cut off some pressure as she has a lot to defend at FO Doubles..this will help her get her get into top 10 Doubles again..And she had entered Brussels Q draw long back and since she got an opportunity to play, she's playing..AND NOT TO FILL VACANT SPOTS!!!!Coz this will not disturb her Doubles anyway..So once FO is over and Olympic Qualifiers will be clear, she'll play singles too..

She said she was quitting to focus on doubles for the Olympics. Having not qualified, she's returning to singles.
