Re: Olympic 2012 WC

I think Mirza has a good chance getting this one.

It´s due to the fact that she and an Indian guy will have a serious chance for a medal in the mixed, they will give a singles WC as they probably did with Black ages ago.

Bartoli won´t get one for sure, Williams won´t need one after Paris this year she´ll be around 30 or 40, if not better.

When it comes to Date over Mirza, it´s not easy. Hopes might be that Date gets in directly with so many above her going out due to the nations having more than the 4-6 girls named, so Date has a shot if she goes around 60 and rises 10-20 places from where she is know in the forthcoming events. She has a pretty good shot if you ask me

America or South America won´t need a WC if it comes to Williams directly qualifying and Dulko rising to top10 after the French, all possible. Maybe Mirza gets the Australian/Asian WC, same as Date to rise the Asian qualified nations. Scheepers wasn´t interested as Grandin was quoted she was unwilling to go, same as the men on the South African side, I suppose. Wasn´t it Kevin Andersson who was quoted not going?

Re: Olympic 2012 WC

Barthel won´t get one just for rising, anyway, by the way, if there are already 3 girls from Germany in.

Re: Olympic 2012 WC

Krajicek also applied for one.
She missed the Olympics in 2008, she qualified but got injured 1,5 week before it started and had to undergo surgery.
This year she was close to qualify for the Olympics, but she got injured last week and had knee surgery today. She probably can't qualify anymore.
Don't think they will give her on though.

Krajicek Bertens Wickmayer Jankovic Kerber Svitolina Hogenkamp de Vroome Flipkens Kerkhove Burger Rus Rezai Bacsinszky / Lena D. missing you

Re: Olympic 2012 WC

Venus is already in the olympics now right? Since her rankingprojection is at #52 already now? Or did she not fulfill fedcup requirements? Just curious.

Re: Olympic 2012 WC

Venus does not need wild-card.
Barthel does not need wild-card (if she will be nominated by the Germans) / can´t get wild-card (if she will be not nominated by the Germans).
Bartoli and Scheepers are not eligible.

Re: Olympic 2012 WC

Its really a shame that Bartoli will be left out of the Olympics...they aren't discussing this nearly enough..shes in the top 10 but won't have the chance to compete for a medal because of the rift between her family and the French federation. Its shameful and for what its worth I hope all the French players lose early and badly. I know its not their fault but their federation deserves no tennis medals for the way they have treated that woman.

The way things are looking there won't be any French players in the draw to lose early or otherwise.

Re: Olympic 2012 WC

I bet Kimiko will be the first option for Asian WC.
Don't forget Japan is the only Asian country in Fed Cup Group 1.
ITF can't ignore it.

BTW, Asia got 2 wild cards last time.
And Venus is already in, Bartoli and Mona is not about WC.
