Why is Stuttgart considered real clay and Madrid not.......

The clay courts at Stuttgart are so different from the clay courts in Paris.....why aren't people in an uproar over these courts? Here is how they are constructed.

http://www.porsche-tennis.de/prod/pa...ment_claycourt
Quote:
In contrast to a conventional clay court, which has an approximately 50 - 60 cm high base made of a wide variety of materials, the new court in the Porsche Arena is only 2.5 cm thick. The basic material is made of crushed tiles mixed with a binding material. It is laid completely level using a special laser controlled machine. Standard plastic foil was laid on the floor of the arena to serve as an underlay and therefore stop the floor and base from binding. Finely crushed brick is then spread on top of the base where most of it enters the pores and bonds with the base material. The “clay” comes from France and its grain size of only 0.1 millimetres makes it exactly the same type of “clay” as the one used at the French Open in Roland Garros. Before being spread, it is mixed with an environmentally friendly special oil which draws moisture from the air. Water does not have to be added – the court retains the optimal moisture levels at all times. Another advantage is that the “clay” has been bonded so that it remains dust-free when the players slide into the ball.
What gives?

I am not conceited, I am just convinced

Stuttgart has red clay, and Madrid has blue clay

Something was bound to go right sometime today, All these broken pieces fit together to make a perfect picture of us
It got cold and then dark so suddenly and rained, It rained so hard the two of us were the only thing
That we could see for miles and miles
And in the middle of the flood I felt my worth, When you held onto me like I was your little life raft
Please know that you were mine as well
Drops of water hit the ground like God's own tears
And spread out into shapes like Salad bowls and basins and buckets for bailing out the flood

Wasn't Stuttgart a hard court tournament a few years ago, maybe they didn't have to resources to build real clay courts and just laid the clay on top of what was the old hard courts.

Really, don't even look at me...

Stuttgart is indoor, so they can´t built "real" claycourt, because the court get removed after the tournament for other sport-events concerts, etc.

Re: Why is Stuttgart considered real clay and Madrid not.......

Because Nadal and Djokovic weren't there to complain

Also the court is indoors anyway so who cares if it is real clay or not

The TF reason is simple: Sharapova won Stuttgart, therefore, it's real clay

Re: Why is Stuttgart considered real clay and Madrid not.......

Agnieszka Radwanska said that from all the tournaments only Rome has a real clay. Stuttgart and Roland Garros's courts are very hard which makes them faster than genuine red clay.

Clay in Madrid was pressed to hard and to fast, that's why it's so fast.
Clay in Stuttgart "behaves" differently 'cause it's indoors.
Both aren't really clay tournaments, unlike Rome...

Good to see there are folks out there able to see through the bs from pova fans. Don't 4get that Stuttgart is indoor crap vs Madrid outdoor. Ask pova fans what she did with winning Rome (the real clay) last year? Did pova win RG? I think the answer to that question is HELL TO THE NO!!!

Well it's not, plays like a indoor hardcourt. The only real clay court left is Rome.
