Classic counter chokes?

-Counter Choke in the sense that the player counter's their own choke-
Choking is sad to see but atleast when said choker is able to bounce back and save the match then it wasn't sooo bad. So what are some classic matches where a player has choked big time but was able to dig out the win in the end ??

My contributions:
2007 Oz Open-1rd M.Sharapova df C.Pin 63 46 86 after 63 46 50 =63 46 56 (15-30)
2010 Roland Garros-QF S.Stosur df S.Williams 63 67(2) 86 after 63 52 = 63 67(2) 45 *match point!!
2012 Indian Wells-3rd V.Azarenka df M.Barthel 64 67(4) 76(6) after 64 51 = 64 67(2) 14
2002 USOpen-3rd M.Seles df Y.Jeong-Cho 61 57 63 after 61 51 = 61 57 01
2012 Indian Wells-4rd M.Kirilenko df N.Petrova 61 57 62 after 61 51= 61 57

Please add more crazy matches(Im sure Myskina and Jankovic have had a few)

Re: Classic counter chokes?

When you mentioned Myskina I remembered that match between her and Zvonareva in United States, where there was like 20 MP's between them

Re: Classic counter chokes?

Myskina vs Jankovic - Wimbledon 2005
She led 60 53 before being down 06 75 51 but winning 60 57 108

Dementieva - Petrova - Wimbledon 2008
Can't remember the score though but I think Elena was up 6/1 5/1, blew a few matchpoints and won the 3rd 63

Re: Classic counter chokes?

The best example of this is the Clijsters/Henin 2010 Brisbane Final

Clijsters led 6-3, *4-1
Then she choked until Henin led 3-6, 6-4, 3-0, 30-0*. Henin serves for the match at 5-3 and has match points
Clijsters saves them and wins the match 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(6)

Ridiculous match

I will never forget Szavay serving a second-serve ace on Jelena's match point in that second set. Ridiculous.

Re: Classic counter chokes?

In the 2006 Los Angeles final Dementieva was up *5-0 in the third set against Jankovic before finally winning it 6-4

And who could forget the Stosur/Kirilenko match at the US Open last year, where Sam recovered to win the third set after losing that marathon second set tiebreaker

Re: Classic counter chokes?

Someone mentioned the Zvonareva/Myskina Carlsbad match.

Myskina led 6-2, *6-5, Zvonareva recovers to lead 2-6, 7-6, *5-2. Myskina gets it back to a tiebreak. Zvonareva had 9 match points in the final set tiebreak and Myskina had 4 before she finally won it. Insane match.

2008 French Open semi too.

Jankovic led 4-2 in the opening set, Ivanovic wins 7 of the next 8 games to lead 6-4, 3-1*, break point. She chokes the lead away and Jankovic then leads 4-6, 6-3, 3-1* and then *4-3 in the third set before Ivanovic finally won it 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Oh yeees. Myskina - Zvonareva was in San Diego and the tiebreak was something like 17-15
I just loved that match. Vera cried every other point

P.S. Janković has like a million of matches where she counter-choked or her opponent did it
