A couple of weeks ago, it was mentioned that Porsche would be sponsoring the North American portion of the tour for the next couple of years. (At about $4 mill per, I think.) And that Sanex was staying on as sponsor of the tour's website. The tour has supposedly decided to pursue a variety of regional sponsorship deals instead of one overriding tour title sponsorship. Makes sense. It would generate more revenue, allow more flexibility, and not tie the tour in to the financial ups and downs of one individual sponsor. It would also allow the name WTA to be more prominent.
