BOMBSHELL: Sony Ericsson to end sponsorship of WTA tour

Don't know if it has been posted here before, but no more SEWTA in 2013:

Quote:
LONDON (AP)—Sony Ericsson is ending its sponsorship of the WTA tour at the end of the 2012 season.

Sony Ericsson became the title sponsor of the women's tennis tour in 2005 tour under a six-year, $88 million deal. Although the contract was extended through the end of 2012, the mobile phone company's name was dropped from the tour's title in 2011.

The WTA said in a statement Friday that "2012 will be the eighth and final year of the partnership. They have been a great partner and we will miss them.''

Sony Ericsson PR manager Graciela Pineda says "this was a strategic decision based on the evolution of the business and the brand.''

LM Ericsson announced in October it would sell its 50 percent stake in Sony Ericsson to Sony for $1.46 billion.

Re: Sony Ericsson to end sponsorship of WTA tour

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

So it's going from Sony Ericsson to Sony?

Re: Sony Ericsson to end sponsorship of WTA tour

Guess Sony Ericsson doesn´t love Wozniacki, Kvitova and Azarenka as much as the stars of the past.

I am not a fan of the direction a lot of Maria threads have taken over the last 12 months.
The undertone is very disappointing, aggressive and the comments are sometimes rude to a player just trying to earn a living, playing her hardest and having a good amount of success given her god given, natural talents.
You made the list: NEW President Bouchard, Cibulkova, Mladenovic, Wozniacki, Kerber, Cornet, Watson, Broady.
Please note this is a signature about Tatjana Maria

I heard Ringling Bros. will be the new sponsor.
