Ana Ivanovic is also switching to the Yonex Xi model.
Petra Kvitova is switching to the Wilson Steam model.

Unless it's a product placement plug (whether or not she's going to actually change), Yazoo. C is right. Petra said in a recent interview, that's she's been practicing getting a feel of her new Wilson racket.

Wow, Yonex. Shouldn't there be other rackets you can promote? Has the Caroline Wozniacki marketing prospect fallen through?

I'm guessing Wilson Steam is brand new right?

Most players have very similar rackets even when they switch. Just the paint job is different, and maybe some customized specs.

I was wondering the same thing.

I guess we'll find out soon, if any?

Like I said earlier, Petra did say she's been practicing, "getting a feel" of her new racket (for what's that worth).

Excuse me?

Her stroke is so pure it isn't going to matter what frame she's playing with anyway.

Patty's strokes are pure and beautiful. Kvitova's are ugly and apparently unclean. Changing raquects now to win some more slams. Funny. Funny joke this sport of tennis has become of.

Re: Racket Changes for the 2012 WTA Season

C'mon, probably they will just change the paintjob of the frame. Probably none of them will really change the racket, just just change the outside of whatever they already use for years so wilson, yonex, babolat, head and others can sell more frames.

Flavia Pennetta - Victoria Azarenka - Andrea Petkovic

Re: Racket Changes for the 2012 WTA Season

Eh, that's easier to tell with Yonexes because all their frames have the same shape. TennisWarehouse forum has really good posters who could tell the difference.

They knew that Tomas Berdych was using a paint job version of the same racket that Maria was endorsing.

Gajdasova has switched from the Wilson BLX range to Babolat.

Re: Racket Changes for the 2012 WTA Season

Maria doesn't use that instinct frame at all! Really, if you see the pictures of her racket and the "real" one it's very different.
BTW, most of head players use something completely different from their "official" frame.

Re: Racket Changes for the 2012 WTA Season

Which aspects of the frame should I look at?

See, then I don't understand why Maria switched from Prince to Head if her racket isn't ...real? (on the market/new frame)
